Education
I am a senior Science Pre-Professional and Spanish major at the University of Notre Dame. I will be graduating and earning my Bachelor of Science next spring, and plan on attending medical school in the future.
Experience
During my senior year of high school, I was a peer tutor in the school's Tutoring Center during my lunch hour. I mainly helped with science and math subjects, but was available for other help as well. During my first year of college, I tutored a young man from a local high school in pre-calculus. We met once or twice a week so I could help with homework, preparing for tests, and reviewing old tests. This past year, I was a STEM ambassador for my dorm. I was a mentor and tutor for anybody of STEM majors, and held office hours for four hours each week, during which girls could ask homework questions or address any concerns they had. I love tutoring because I struggled with some of these subjects when I was younger, too. I understand what the students are feeling, and I love being able to give back and help them out now that I have gained a mastery in these subjects. I also think it's really important for the student to feel comfortable with a tutor, and I think that my age and personality makes that possible. Hobbies
I love to bake, cook, read and shop. I was on the poms team for four years in high school, and I'm still dancing in college. I love to run and exercise. I'm very hard-working and focused, but I'm also very out-going and silly at times. I'm good at reading situations and people's emotions, which makes me a strong communicator--something that I believe is very important in a tutor. I'm very patient, because I understand the frustration students often feel. Most importantly, I love being a tutor!
