ExperienceI am an experienced collegiate-level tutor in the areas of science and mathematics. While earning a bachelor's degree in Honors Neuroscience and Chemistry at Vanderbilt University, I tutored fellow students who were failing and brought their grades up to A and B levels. Tutoring my classmates helped me to perfect my tutoring skills and gave me insights into how best to help students succeed. My proven track record of raising grades involves creating an approachable and engaging environment that encourages humor, questions, and an open-minded approach to mistakes. With this kind of learning environment, students can make gains in knowledge which will yield better scores and increased self-confidence.Given my background in science, I excel at tutoring all aspects of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I can also tutor subjects such as Anatomy, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, and Physiology. In math, my specialties include all levels of Algebra, Calculus, and general Math from grades 1-12. Geometry, Trigonometry, and Differential Equations are also a pleasure to teach. In my free time, I enjoy staying active and developing both body and mind. My favorite activities include running, reading, listening to music, doing yoga and Pilates, spending time with my dog, and traveling.
